The collections in The Telephone Museum Foundation have been provided through 30 years of industrious collection by the founders of the Fund, Mr. Søren Black-Petersen and Mr. Ole Jæger. The collections document the history of Danish telephony with special emphasis on the work of Copenhagen Telephone Company Ltd. (KTAS) from 1881 to 1995. In 1981 the Fund opened its exhibition in the premises
of the former Hellerup exchange at Svanemøllevej which still contains the old exchange
from 1924, built by Telephone Factory Automatic in Copenhagen. Through all the years the
work of the Fund has been financed 100% by TDC Ltd., the former KTAS. The two museum funds are presently working at a merger. In this connection The Telephone Museum closed permanently the 28th of March, 2001 after which the items are to be registered and transferred to The PTT-Museum.
