1980 - Push-button telephone DA-80

The telephone in the picture attracted an international attention, as it was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The telephone is designed by the industrial designer Henning Andreasen who received a Danish ID-price for it.
With this set the electronics has really made its entry in the telephone. Among other things the bell has been replaced by an electronic tone ringer, whose sound is made by a small built-in loudspeaker, that can be used as monitor for others in the room as well.
It was introduced in 1980 and was also made in a cheaper version without the built-in loudspeaker.
The telephone, which is Danish, was a major export article for GNT-Automatic and was, besides being the standard set for Irish telephone subscribers, who wanted a push-button telephone, also approved for use in the USA.
