1979 - Push-button pay-phone F-79

In the picture you can see a rented pay-phone from the late seventies.

This model of pay-phone is something between an ordinary telephone set and a public pay-phone. It is mainly intended for subscribers, who often lend the telephone for payment on for example service stations, hotel receptions and similar places, where it is supervised. For that reason there has not been done much to protect the set against theft and vandalism.

If you as subscriber order such a pay-phone, you also get a key, so that you can empty the till yourself. You can also disable the payment function, after that it works as an ordinary telephone.

The pay-phone is Danish and GNT-Automatic who manufactured it, are - under a new name GN-Communication - still exporting several models of sophisticated pay and card phones to many parts of the world.
