1930 - Demi-Automatic set model D-30 - chrome plated

The telephone set model 1930 - is a very fine example of what Danish industry could perform at this time.
In the picture you find the set in a special chrome-plated version, ordered by a subscriber on Østerbro in Copenhagen. Normally the set was painted black. Notice the dial in that you can see the characteristic letter combinations for the demi-automatic exchanges in Copenhagen. "1" was for calls to the main exchange "Central" and if you dialled "0" your call was answered by an operator, who among other things took care of emergency calls.
It is made in Copenhagen by Telefon Fabrik Automatic. It was introduced with the opening of a new demi-automatic exchange TAGA in 1931. For many years it was the most common phone set in the Copenhagen. The last telephone of this type were taken out of service in 1978, when the last demi-automatic exchanges ØBRO and TRIA closed.
