1920 - Magneto wall set M-1920 with Coinbox 1904

Before the turn of century it has been possible to make calls from public payphones or as it was called at that time "Public Call Stations".
The telephone set in the picture is made in Horsens by Emil Møllers Telefonfabrikker in 1904. In the 1920ies is was updated and equipped with the red push-button, that was to be used together with the crank during call and ring-off. The red button short-circuited the internal bell to get more power to call the exchange.
Notice the coinbox that is made of wood - apparently vandalism and theft was not a problem in the past.
