1908 - CB wall set CH-08 with fixed microphone

In 1907 KTAS introduced a new exchange system. Earlier the batteries that supplied the microphone with current were placed at each individual subscriber. In the new system all subscribers were supplied with current from a common battery, that was placed at the telephone exchange.
Very soon Copenhagen Telephone Company Ltd. (KTAS) realised the value of starting a Danish production of telephones for the new exchanges. The set at the picture was introduced in 1910 and manufactured at Telefon Fabrik Automatic in Copenhagen. It was used at the new Main Exchange in Nørregade in Copenhagen.
Notice the microphone that is placed on three arms, which means that you can move it up and down. The reason for this was that somebody had complained that the younger members of the family had difficulties in reaching the microphone, which according to instructions for telephone engineers always was to be placed at a level with the mouth of the master of the house.
