1885 - Magneto set "Eiffel-Tower" with fixed microphone

It was troublesome that you had stand up to use the telephone. For that reason the table models were manufactured. The microphone was still fixed to the set. The legs of the set were the magnets to the generator. Telephones with cranks are called magneto sets.
The telephone shown below is manufactured at L. M. Ericsson in Stockholm, Sweden in 1885 and was introduced as "the telephone for your desk".
This was something new! In the infancy of the telephone the telephone set was something to be placed on the wall; but with this set the telephone was placed on the desk for the first time - something people where happy to pay extra for at that time!
Notice the microphone on the revolving arm and the crank that they used to call the exchange with - and not least to ring off with.
